Interesting Ways To Announce Your Wedding With Beach-Themed Invitations

If you are planning on getting married soon, you are most likely going to be preparing invitations to send to loved ones to inform them of the event. If you are having a beach-themed wedding, try one of these off-the-beaten-path ways to announce the upcoming event. Your guests will appreciate your unique way of inviting them and will most likely be excited to see what other surprises you have to share in your decor on the day of the celebration.

Send Pairs Of Flip Flops

One fun way to announce your upcoming wedding is to purchase several pairs of flip-flops to use as invitations. Write the necessary wedding information with a permanent marker directly on the bottom of each shoe. Purchase shoe boxes to use to send your guests these usable invitations. Wrap the shoes in tissue paper and adorn with decorative ribbon in beach colors like teal, peach, or pink. Your guests will be delighted to see your unique way of spreading the news and they can wear the flip-flops to the occasion.

Add Shells And Starfish

Instead of sending plain invitations, spruce them up with your own decorative touches. Take a trip to the beach to collect colorful shells and stones and glue several to each invitation. A starfish can be added to the outside of the interior envelope to add some intrigue to the contents before the main portion is read. These can be purchased from a craft store. Make sure to use large envelopes so the added decorations fit inside without scraping against the paper, possibly ripping the envelopes in the process. Since you will be adding your own colorful adornments to plain white card stock, you will most likely save money as the ink used to place pictures on invitations usually costs more.

Put The Information In A Bottle

Instead of sending a traditional envelope with your invitation inside, consider rolling up each invitation and placing it inside a small plastic bottle. These can be sent in the mail with the correct postage and will definitely catch the attention of each person who receives one. Use a cork to keep the contents from spilling out of the bottle. Use packing tape to secure the cork in place. If desired, add some sand or small seashells inside each bottle along with the invitation before adding the cork. Place the mailing addresses on labels and affix to the exteriors of the bottles. Your invitations will be a conversation pieces from the moment they are received by the post office until they arrive at their destinations.
