Advertising Your New Business’ Grand Opening

If you are holding a grand opening at your new business in the near future, you will want to do whatever necessary to grab the attention of those passing through the area so they may stop at your establishment to see what wares or services you are offering for sale. There are several marketing advertising methods you can use to make your opening day a huge success. Here are some ways to get the word out that your business is now open to the public.

Hand Out Information

A few weeks before you are to hold your grand opening, have a few people help you hand out flyers to people who live in the area where your establishment is located. Check with your town to find out if there are rules regarding solicitation before you undertake this task. Many towns do allow flyers to be placed on windshields of vehicles in public parking lots, and you can have people standing outside your business handing out material to people walking past as well.

Offer Discounts

Spread word via social media that you will be holding a large event when your business is first going to open and ask people following your business site to help you spread the word. Offer discounts to those who share the information on their own social media pages. This will help promote the opening and you will have several people helping to share the information of the opening as they will get a discount on their purchase as a result.

Send each person who shares the information a coupon directly through their social media messaging feature. Once word gets out that your business is offering a discount, others may join in with sharing your grand opening information so they get discounts as well.

Use Signs

Signs advertising your grand open should be placed in as many areas as possible to get the word out. Use ground signs along the front of your business property so people passing by will take a closer look at what may be going on in the area. Consider attaching a balloon to each ground sign to gain even more attention. Make sure your signs have large lettering in a contrasting color from the background so they can be seen from a distance.

Consider placing magnetic signs on several vehicles and have people designated to drive them around your town in the days leading up to the grand opening. This will allow you to grab customers in areas away from your business location. Parking the vehicles in public parking lots can also be effective in getting the word out to people in town.
